![]() to burn up 8 gallons of airplane fuel. Thats the most
fuel Ive ever consumed in one season, and I wasnt
flying alone very often.
During the year our past club leadership cleared the
way to open flying at our Moon Lake flying site, and
several other flying sites became available. In fact,
while many clubs struggle to maintain one flying site,
we have numerous sites to choose from.
In addition to Moon Lake, we have our southern site at
Leons, the field of Judds out by Dallas, Doug
McFarland has a very respectable flying site (Im
hoping to encourage him to host a meeting this spring),
and the field at my place. I think Wayne is also
considering constructing a flying field at his place. In
short, our club is blessed with places to fly in a day and
age where this is not the norm. Please be sure to thank
the folks who maintain these fields for our enjoyment!
Many of our club members noticed that our past
president had one weakness, and that was that he did
not fly nearly enough RC Combat. I can assure you that
I intend to correct this shortcoming! During December
and January, preparations for the coming combat
season were under way, including 15 plane bodies
roughed out, 26 wing cores cut for .25 size planes, and
15 wing cores cut for .15 size planes. Tests were also
conducted on .15 plane wing designs. We will be
resuming our weekly combat fun-flys sometime in
March. If you have any interest in fielding a combat
plane, or just checking our RC Combat, stay tuned.
My other interests during the fall and winter have been
flying small electrics, and trying to learn a bit of 3-D
with a Funtana 40. Its all been great fun!
The active club business at the moment is considering
a proposal made by Leon during the December
meeting. The concept is to promote participation in club
activities by awarding and tracking points for taking part
in club-sponsored events.
I would like to promote this proposal because I believe
it would be a good way to encourage more folks to take
an active roll. I want to go on record with the
understanding that I will not be personally eligible for
participation awards. The purpose of the participation
program is not to get me more involved. Rather, it is
intended to encourage those members who, for
whatever reason, have not participated fully in the past.
I will be asking the board to meet to prepare a
proposal. The proposal should be ready for our fun-fly
meeting a Leons on February 18.
Please plan to attend the meeting at Leons if your
schedule allows. The Fun-Fly is scheduled to start at

our club website and frequency use chart. Please email
your transmitter channel numbers to Jason or contact

The Presidents Report
It seems that the year 2005 was a pretty good one for
me personally, and for the club in general. I managed
