![]() Our meeting with Janet Lowe about driving on the
Burton property didnt go so well. We found out the
property is up for sale and our proposal to use a portion
of it was turned down by Janet. Members wanting to fly
in the park will need to park on the pavement and
transport their equipment to the south end.
By popular request, our upcoming summer meets will
be flying/social events only. Everyone seems very busy
this time of year, and there has been very little interest
in club business meetings. Our next club business
meeting will likely commence in October or November.
I will try to make myself available to anyone that needs
help, has questions, or just wants to go flying this
summer. Any member in need of a flight instructor
please contact myself, or any club officer, and we will
do our best to set you up with a qualified instructor.
All club officers and members should feel free to use
our club newsletter to inform members of upcoming
events, or other club related information. Information
can be sent directly to Jason Novak, our newsletter
editor.
I hope to see everyone out and about flying this
summer.

Five Musts of Aircraft Setup
There are five aspects of aircraft design that are crucial
to desired flight performancecall them the Fab Five.
There are others, but these five are fundamental, easy
to check, and should be understood by every pilot.
They are:
Balance: fore and aft
Balance: wing tip to wing tip
Wing incidence
Engine thrust line: up or down
Engine thrust line: left or right
These are all usually specified on plans or building
instructions. If not, such as with many almost ready to
fly models, it is important to know an appropriate
starting point for each, and to verify all five before
attempting flight.
