secretary was on one of those secretary of peace
missions.
Our clubs AMA charter has been sent in, and our
members will be insured for flying in Moon Lake Park,
and at Leon Olszewski’s field this year. We also have
Grampa’s Train
Shop insured for the one day of our
Aqua Fest float fly.
A few of us have been having a great time flying
electric in the Prairie Farm gym this  winter, and I have
added three more dates to the flying schedule. Use of
the gym costs $20 per time, and that money comes
directly from participating pilot donations. This was set
up as a RLMAC sponsored community event (anyone
can use the facility under our club’s supervision) but
our club does not directly pay for its usage.
At our March meeting, we discussed moving our lawn
mower/utility building to the south end of Moon Lake
Park while the ground is still frozen.  This may happen
on Sunday, March 20th depending on weather
conditions.
We will be making some new PVC portable flight line
fences and some portable plane setup/starting stands
for our new south park location. We want to keep
everything very simple and portable so the city can
continue mowing the grass in that new location. We
want a low maintenance operation.
There should be a new aerial view of Moon Lake Park
in this newsletter showing the south soccer fields. In
case anyone is in the complete dark about where we
are moving our park flying operations, we have been
giving permission to take over soccer field 11.  This is
the third soccer field south of the old airport runway,
closest to the lake. I will keep everyone informed on
how that move develops, and its intended usage.
Anyone with questions about the new location should
contact a club officer, or bring them up at an upcoming
meeting.
As the weather warms up, we will be combining our
monthly meetings and fun-fly dates.  We will have a
very short informal meeting to take care of any urgent
business, but the emphasis will be on getting together
and flying this summer. We will be alternating monthly
meeting locations between Moon Lake Park, and Leon
Olszewsli’s flying field.
Till next time.   Kevin
