discus what’s going on with RC in our area.  If you have

We had a great turnout for our fun-fly/cookout on the
evening of August 17th at Judd Koenitzer’s new flying
field. Vice President John Moen was kept very busy at
the grill, and many people brought a lot of good food.
The sky was consistently full of planes, and it was a
very enjoyable evening. A big thanks to everyone that
came out and joined in the fun. Our next club fun-fly will
be held at our club’s Southeast flying field, east of
Chetek on September 11th at 2:00pm. We’ll try to have
a map in this newsletter for those not familiar with how
to get there. Hope to see you there.
I think our club event coordinator Leon Olszewski had a
great idea this spring when he proposed the monthly
club fun-fly concept, and I’ve really enjoyed how it has
developed into a community of RC fliers moving from
one flying site to the next.  It’s a kind of good old-
fashioned camaraderie, and it’s given us all a great
opportunity to see the true diversity of our club’s
widespread membership.  I think it’s also shown us the
real potential for our club in supporting/sponsoring
multiple flying site locations around Rice Lake and the
surrounding communities.
Many of our members enjoyed another great fun-fly put
on by the Eau Claire Indianhead RC club on Saturday
August 13th. The weather was a wonderful 75 degree’s
with a light wind down the runway. There were 16
gallons of Wildcat fuel given out as door prizes. One
lucky gentleman walked away with 4 gallons all to
himself!
