meeting if you are interested.
Just a reminder that I am still looking for some brave
individual to step forward and head up our event
organization committee for the coming year. I will not
be doing that function this year. I will however help out
on the committee if someone takes the position. Any
events should be planned soon. Early advertising is
key to good event turnout in my opinion. If you are
interested in the position please contact me, or come
volunteer at the next meeting.
There is no general membership meeting this
December. There are too many other things going on
this time of year, and most of our members would
prefer the time to themselves and family.
Wishing everyone a happy holiday season
Kevin

The Presidents Report
My apologies for the late newsletter this month, Ive
been busy working with our Board members and the
Citys Park Board members trying to find a solution to
our flying site situation. According to our clubs
membership survey, 86% or 13 out of 15 members
stated they are not satisfied with our current Moon Lake
Park flying site for one reason or another. Our Board
members and myself responded by sending a letter to
the city of Rice Lake Department of Parks and
Recreation stating the issues our members are having
with our existing location in Moon Lake Park. We were
very promptly invited to the next Park Board meeting to
discuss our concerns. On November 17th, three of our
board members and myself attended the Park board
meeting, and there was much discussion from all
present. I am not at liberty to discuss the details at this
time, but I will say there is a very good possibility we
may have a new, more controllable and available flying
location within the park come spring. Things are going
in our favor, and it seems that the park board would like
to keep the RLMAC flying in Moon Lake Park. Our field
acquisition committee has also been researching other
flying site locations outside of the park. Wayne Barta
will keep us updated on any new developments as they
materialize. Our flying field survey also indicated that
we have enough member support to follow through with
making Leon Olszewskis place an alternate southern
district club field. We will be working out the details on
how to implement that location in the best interest for
both parties.
There is a board members business meeting on
Sunday, November 28th at 3:00pm at the parks and
